  • The pic in the bathroom profile shot is brilliance.
  • Maybe I've learned.... Playing with matches, a guy can get burned...
  • Brilliant! I like how his arm is still twitching in the last panel, and she looks so demure.
  • erm - Wouldn't you wait until *after* dinner before... the gettin' it on bit? (which is when I thought the head-biting-off takes place)
  • Huh -- hadn't thought of that. Maybe she's practicing abstinence, but still doing the head-devouring part?
  • Maybe his claw isn't the only thing that still works after his head's cut off.
  • Maybe she wasn't looking for sex anyway. Mantids are cannibalistic whether or not they're mating, they just eat anything eatable they can get their claws on :p
  • The 'bad taste' in her turn offs is the greatest double entendre ever.
  • She lists her 'turn ons' as fine dining, snappy dressers and red roses, what does he do? He wears a nice tie, brings her red roses and takes her to a nice restaurant.
  • lol, i hope the part under turnoffs being bad taste was in there on purpose, eh eh!!
  • Awesome sauce i like the romantic hearts in the background of the second panel that are suddenly gone in th ethird
  • Reading the comments always make these comics more awesome. I totally didn't get the "bad taste" thing untill you guys said it and I didn't see the twitching arm either.. nice!
  • agreed, the "myspace" style profile pic is brilliant
  • Looking for a mate with a good head on his shoulders.... lmao! nice comic.
  • hahahaha this is awesome, i love the simulated 'myspace mirror pic'

ah, true love is in the air
  • HAHAHAAAHAHAH!!!!!
    *wipes away tears*
  • This strip has gotten better and better from day one (and it started just fine).

Fine food as mating ritual - noice.
  • That's a really nice encouraging compliment. Thank you!
  • I second that! Thank you for viewing.
  • I like the bug harmony logo. Awesome.
  • Kind of funny but too predictable. I knew what was gonna happen from panel one.

I love the little details though. Bad taste lulz...
  • comics don't always have to be predictable nor do they always have to have their joke at the end. Humor works in several different kinds of way, and there is no reason for a particular comic to always copy the age-old formula. I think that the particular format of this comic works very well and is the best way to portray this humor with no words.
  • I mean to say "don't always have to be unpredictable"
  • Entertaining, but the last two panels are redundant. I think it would've worked better as a single panel comic of just the first one.
  • Gorgeously drawn with a lot of cute touches, but there isn't really a "setup" because the gag is obvious as soon as we see that she's a mantis. Since we already know what mantises do, I think it'd honestly work better if you took the first panel and moved it to the end, to be a "here we go again" sort of punchline with all the amusing stuff to read.
  • ...I gotta add, though, that I love the male's one foreleg twitching post-decapitation!
  • @scythe

dude a sigh of a great comic is that it doesnt end with a punch line EVERY TIME *swings head for emphasis*
  • I have to agree with Scythe on this one. The punchline would be much stronger if we didn't know she was a mantis from the beginning, and the, "good head on his shoulders," bit really gives it away for anyone who even vaguely knows about the mating habits of a mantis.

Regardless, it's a good comic. Simply not "great."
  • Oh, and that being said, I'd like to say I don't mean anything rude by it. I say it out of love, because I know the potential for much better comics certainly exists with TBK.

  • I love Linda's facial expression in the last panel

    Keep up the good work!
  • Would this make "linda" an online predator?

    A-hur, hur, hur.
  • LOL. Love it. So simple, so clever.
  • Love the fact that the picture in the first panel is one of those mirror shots that MySpace seems to love so much! Great attention to detail, keep up the good work!
  • Just discovered this comics! I love it!
  • You could always keep your current layout by shrinking the images. Then, you could make the comic image itself a link to a page with the full-size image (or just the image itself). That way you preserve the layout you like whilst making available the high resolution version to those who want it.

An added bonus is that not everybody that hits your page will be loading the full-size version, saving your bandwidth.
  • a good head on his shoulders. hehe.
