    I love it! 11/10!!!

I never thought I'd see a resonance magnification, much less create one.

Carpenter ants... Gotta love em. :)

I think this shows us your position on the hadron colider...excuse me large hadron colider...love the comic been a fan for a while

We're all gonna die in a mini-black hole!

My money is on the large black hole

Do I sense racial commentary in the respective carapace colors of the picketing ants and the technician ants?
  • Off · 1 year ago
Emphatically, no. Though the two different species of ant were intentionally used in the comic, no racial undertones should be inferred.
  • mjgorman · 1 year ago
Are there any undertones to the fact that the black ants don't wear pants, or is that just a personal decision on their part?
  • Mojo · 1 year ago
Everyone knows science is done better without pants.
  • B.Sc. · 1 year ago
As a biology major I can attests to the truth of this.
  • Jake_I · 1 year ago
Well I must say that little black ants, in my experience, are indeed smarter. They always seem to be all over my ankle before I detect their presence. They may however, be more reckless, as is shown here.
  • Zavion · 1 year ago
The different colors of ants are different species, not races or breeds of the same animal. In most of North America black ants are more docile and, while larger, weaker than the red ants who are smaller and more aggressive. In a sense, the color choices are probably due that fact, and shouldn't be taken to imply human racism.
  • Jake_I · 1 year ago
Who said anything about human racism?
  • Jetti · 1 year ago
Hahaha! This is cute in a way.
    Great work as always! Haha!

  • Yojimbo · 1 year ago
So what you're trying to say is that so long as we don't stand underneath the Large Hadron Collider while it's bright and sunny out, we'll be fine?
  • Davide · 1 year ago
I for one eagerly await for our combine overlords to bust out from the LHC.

Sometimes this comic fails to make sense. This is not one of those times. Yes, this was a play on the comment bubble from "last week." No, I didnt read it all before posting this. No, I dont actually expect anyone to read it. But kudos on making it this far. Thanks for the bitchen strip!

It says 'Hive Labs' on the keycard.

Surely that should be 'Nest Labs'?
  • Parky · 1 year ago
    Nuh uh
Ant's nests are also called 'Ant hive's '
The artist chose one over the other
  • poopp · 1 year ago
    Large Hadron Collider?
  • Carlos · 1 year ago
Great! funny! Yes we probably end up like this.

Those who said that the LHC represents no danger. What could happen in 40 years to come? What if the budget get shorter and shorter? In 40 years or less, they will get all the answers they could have from the LHC, then they'll move to the next machine, and a big hole in the ground full of machines will we just a waste, hazardous waste.

All the answers we going to get! One book telling us the mysteries of the universe and the rest of the research will be used for military purpose.
  • Thomas · 1 year ago
Considering the LHC was built into the tunnels formerly occupied by the LEP (CERNs previous super-collider) I think it's quite probable that they'll just build a newer, better, upgraded version of it with more power into the exact same spot again (as they might be able to, considering the time to develop new materials and alloys and whatnot) - or use it as a pre-accelerator to an even bigger one, like they do with linear accelerators usually.
So... they pretty much recycle most of their accelerators or at least the tunnels they dug for them.
  • john · 1 year ago
Or they'll just continue to use all the smaller colliders, like they already do...
  • Nabil · 1 year ago
Wow. Not only is that mostly inaccurate, but also, it is poorly worded.
  • Sean · 1 year ago
The LHC is just a bunch of nitrogen cooled supermagnets.... there is no hazardous waste...
  • Sqrrl101 · 1 year ago
Actually, the LHC is cooled using liquid Helium.
  • Necron · 10 months ago
Oh God, it's going to fly away.

Surely that should be 'Nest Labs'
