Thanks man. I kind of wanted to detail the crowd in the first one but I just didn't have the time. Might make an update to it eventually.

Pikachu wins. Electricity vs. Flying type, electricity wins. :) Oh wait... Chickens don't really fly. never mind.
  • CyberShadow · 1 year ago
As much as I don't like bringing out the ex-pokemon geek in me... Doduo are a flying type although they don't fly much either.
  • Malimar · 1 year ago
I taught Fly to my Doduo. I thought it appropriately nonsensical.

This appears to be infringing on a number of copyrights . I'm contacting the authorities.
  • Wow, this guy's a fag · 1 year ago
Douche....My god, are you really so ignorant that you would? It's just a joke, jokes tend to get told over and over and over....so what? You don't sue someone for saying the "Why did the chicken cross the road?" joke....jebus people...stop overanalyzing everything....
  • DemonG · 1 year ago
You believed him? You're dumber than he is.

Yeah, got your e-mail about it. Oh well! I'm actually kind of surprised this doesn't happen more often with the kind of material we cover.
  • Zordon · 1 year ago
whatever yours is funnier and better drawn.
  • Macster · 1 year ago
Pfff, yes, because this is a very well-known comic that people actually read, any similar jokes must be stolen from it and not just coincidence!
  • Max · 1 year ago
The jokes are completely different. The comic you linked to is pointing out that in real life, pokemon battles would probably be considered animal cruelty. The joke with this comic however, is in pointing out how wimpy pokemon battles are compared to the brutality of actual competitive animal fighting.

listen i think i have a valuable comic but trying to sell could i have some advice
  • Nickzilla · 1 year ago
Actually, this joke has kind of been touched on in Drawn Together as well, where ling-ling and toot get trapped in mexico and ling-ling has to fight in the cockpits to earn enough to get back home.
  • War Machine · 1 year ago
Nobody watches that crappy show, man.
  • MasterDarksol · 1 year ago
Enough with the piracy talk. Seriously. Pokemon is a competition in which peoples' animals fight. Cockfighting is a competition in which peoples' animals fight. When two artists come to the very simple conclusion that these two things are similar, that doesn't mean the second stole that conclusion (or the comic idea) from the first.

Great comic, as usual. I always enjoy these. :)
  • Joe · 1 year ago
I agree. The come it was "stolen" from is a completely different concept. Here its u cockfighting ring that Ash throws a pokemon into, but in the other one, its a standard poke battle that gets broken up. Also, the other one is terribly drawn and unpopular.
  • Iax · 1 year ago
    Wrong!
In one of the drawn together episodes the pikachu character fights in actual cock fights, against regual roosters. He uses his powers and kills all the other chickens easily(and very bloodily).
  • Jake_I · 1 year ago
I'd argue that the difference here is the supposed outcome. The gamecock is trained and armed for brutal, thoughtless, bloody killing, while pokemon don't fight to the death -- they fight until their enemy is "exhausted" or whatever. I think Pikachu is about to be torn to shreds. The older man in the first panel seems to know this. Maybe he's seen a squirtle ripped apart in the same ring.

But bird types are vulnerable to electric types!
