    For those who don't get it:

    It's supposed to be a reference to "The Fly". In "The Fly" something goes wrong with a teleportation experiment when a fly gets in the machine. The strip is saying he has now solved the problem by capturing flies and re-running the machine. At the last second, however, a penguin gets into the machine.

    Very funny, the "OH SH..." face is the best part of comic. I really like when you need to read twice or trice to see all details.

    I sat next to the actual Brundlefly prop in a Planet Hollywood. It made things very difficult when it came to eating. We eventually had to move.

    I will say the last panel is perplexing. I know he's supposed to be vexed because a penguin has shown up in his machine, but I can't help but see either Brundlefly's head sitting on the floor of the machine or the penguin floating (flying?) above his head inside the machine. But even if neither of these is the case, this one is satisfying in its absurdity.

    My all-time favorite movie monster, drawn and colored AWESOMELY. It does kinda look like he doesn't have a body in the last panel, but I did get the joke.

    The joke is from the movie "The Fly". A fly gets into the machine and causes the main character to become the scientist above during teleportation. Wanting to fix this, and prevent another fly from interfering he sets up fly traps. The penguin is the new fly.

    Maybe a part of the joke is also that he goes to a great length to prevent anything that flies from coming in...and a nonflying creatures foils his plan :)

    it's like the koala on the helicopter in the simpsons go to australia episode
    it's ridiculous and tha's why it's funny

    also the last frame was fine before
    think of it as an overhead angle looking across and down, u can't see his body cuz it would have been out of frame!

    sheezzzzz!

    but it's been a loooooooong time since i saw that movie, why's he naked?

    I always wondered if he would gain fishlike features if he had just eaten sashimi. And it's not like the guy didn't have any mites on him. I'd probably give up on the machine altogether.

    for those of u that dont get it. its a reference to the movie "the fly" (or something like that) were this doctor made some kind of wierd machine and a fly got in it and he came out wit a fly head and the fly came out wit his head. the penguin was just a joke

    Explained...

    -In teh movie "The Fly" a human is mixed with a Fly by accident
    -In teh Comic the Scientist wants to transform back to human and to make sure no Flys are involved this time, he hangs out the Flytraps
    -At last he starts the Beamprocess to turn back human and in the Chamber the Penguin awaits him...
